How to project Windows Phone 8.1 screen on PC/Laptop

Windows Phone is creating a new trend from the past two years with new O.S updates and providing rich features which are not available on Android/ iOS. In this process, In the Windows Phone 8.1 update, which means Lumia Cyan update, Microsoft added much more new features. One of them is “Project Windows Phone” feature. This is one of the new feature added in Windows Phone 8.1. Actually this feature is added to project windows phone to external PC or projector wirelessly. But many Lumia devices do not support wireless projection feature. But these users can Project their windows phone screen to PC with a USB connection.

Project My Screen App is an official Microsoft tool which enables the Windows Phone user to project Windows Phone Screen screen on the Windows PC when connected with Monitor.

How to Project Windows Phone 8.1 Screen on Windows PC/Laptop ?

Step 1: To project Windows Phone, First you have to download “Project My Screen App” from Microsoft Website. Just Google it or click here to got to download page.

Step 2: After downloading the application, run the application and complete the installation.

Step 3: Now connect the Windows Phone device which you want to project, to the PC with a USB cable.

Step 4: Now open “Project My App” Application.

Step 5: Once you open the application on the PC, you will get a notification “Allow Screen Projection” on your Windows Phone device.project windows phone 1

Step 6: Select “Yes” to project Windows Phone on PC. Once you select “Yes” you will find your Windows Phone screen projected on the monitor.project windows phone 1

Step 7: View the controls by navigating to “Help” from the menu bar.

Step 8 [Advanced] : Navigate to “Project My Screen” option from the “Settings” app of your Windows Phone for advanced options.

Step 9: You can simply close the App on desktop or disconnect the USB, to disconnect projection of Windows Phone.
